We encourage people to first take the 3-week Beginners Pottery Class to become acquainted with studio rules and clay techniques.
Each term we give priority to returning students, so we encourage joining our special Immersive Class - Wait List to be notified when a spot opens up. |
Immersive PotteryThis 8-week class is designed to dive deeper into pottery, to hone your skills and be part of every step of the pottery process.
All students learn the key techniques needed to unleash their creativity. The classes are made for all experience levels and once basics are taught, they're student led with guidance and one-on-one teaching. Available for 15 years+, or with the accompaniment of a guardian. Limited spaces available, with each class accommodating up to 7 students, so everyone gets their own wheel. Cost is $395+ tax, and includes glaze, firings, tool and equipment rental. Clay must be purchased at the Clay Studio Collective on the first day of class, for $50 a bag. |
Class Structure
Week 1 – 8: Learn and Practice Krista starts each week with a demo on the wheel or with a handbuilding technique to add to you toolbox. Spend the class learning and practicing with one-on-one support. But we keep things flexible! If you have another project in mind, then you're not restricted to that night’s lesson. You're encouraged to build your own experience with whatever you want to make. No matter how challenging, Krista will help you devise a plan and then make it happen! Week 4 + 7: Glaze Days We try to schedule a bisque load roughly twice throughout the 8-week class so we can learn new decorating techniques and experiment with new glaze combos. That way, you’ll also get to see what works for the final glaze class! Week 9: Bonus Class Following Week 8, we always host a FREE catch-up date in the studio. It’s great for glazing those last pieces, or catching a demo you might have missed. |

Clay Protocol
Clay must be purchased directly from the Clay Studio Collective to keep the studio consistent and running smoothly.
It is available by the bag (25lbs), with a single bag usually enough to last an entire class. Students will leave, on average, with 8-15 hand crafted, one of a kind items.

Spring Term
Alternative firing methods and sculpture techniques are an option for interested students in the Spring Term, where we dive into Raku or Smoke Firing.
Week 4-8 will prepare students to make pieces suitable for these firings, such as large sculptural work.
