What Students Say
"My only goal was to see if I could do it. Not only was I able to make pottery projects, I found (to my amazement) that I really enjoy the process. I've learned to relax about my creations, and that, doing and failing are the 2nd best teachers in learning. The 1st is having Krista as an instructor!"

"I would say to be surprised at your self. Relax and enjoy your own creativity. Krista instructions and guidance are all you need. The other people I take the classes with are so encouraging and fun to spend an evening with.
I wanted to make soup/cereal bowls to match my plates at home. Woohoo I did it with the encouragement of Krista and her expertise."

"I started taking pottery classes with Krista starting in the spring of 2014. Not being a very patient person I wasn’t sure how things would go but somehow I was able to make not only functional pieces but also beautiful ones. Krista can always tell when I get flustered with something with my eternal struggle to centre on the wheel; she always comes over and calmly walks me through my issues.
If I’m feeling uninspired or lazy in class, Krista always knows just what to do! She’ll hand you a lonely, chunk of clay or a bowl that needs glazing and suddenly you’re inspired and your hands are busy. My progress has been impressive (if I do say so myself). I started with lumpy, heavy monster mugs and bowls, all glazed in the same colour (pieces that Krista notes you could use to defend yourself against burglars) and now I have evolved to more imaginative works. I take creative risks with my glazes instead of just sticking to my classic “Evelyn” green and my bowls and mugs are now uniform instead of lumping to one side (I can actually centre things now!). This year I started working on big products, which has really taken me out of my comfort zone as I was always afraid of going too big. " - Evelyn T. |
