are you Glazed & Confused?

We're excited to offer a new class at the Clay Studio Collective this month for the glaze curious and discoverers! 

This six week course will guide you through the fundamentals of glaze chemistry with a series of experiments that will help you understand, alter and optimize your own cone 6 glazes.

The best part? No science or chemistry experience needed! 

Topics will range from:

• glaze composition and learning about materials
• mixing and altering colourants in base glazes
• how to create new surface textures and specialty glazes
• troubleshooting problems
• application techniques and record-keeping

Prior experience with clay is preferred and all students must bring their own N95 respirator. Additional cost for material fee is $25.

Learning the basics of glaze chemistry is a must for mastering the art of glaze. Students will come away with dozens of new glaze recipes to try in the studio
